I'm Juan Rada a software engineer from Venezuela based in New York City🗽

I've been curious about computers for as long as I can remember and hacked my first computer when I was 13. My dad thought he could lock me out of the Dell Desktop running Windows XP we shared; an anarchist kid like me could not tolerate that, so I gained admin privileges and locked him out of the system(lol, I got in such bad trouble).

When I was 16, I wrote my first Python 2 program, a simple script to lock files with a username and password. After that, I fell in love with the Art of programming and computer security. I would automate tasks, play around with the Kali Linux tools, analyze and visualize data, exploit networks, and much more.

I could not make it into the Systems engineering program, so I studied Economics and Statistics at Universidad de Los Andes🏔🇻🇪 There. I enjoyed data analysis using R to summarize, describe, and visualize data from multiple domains such as economics, environment, and health.

I'm a passionate chess enthusiast. I play bullet and blitz almost every day. My favorite openings are the Queen's Gambit, Modern defense, King's Fianchetto, Nimzowitsch-Larsen Attack.

In 2018 I migrated to the United States from my hometown Mérida, VE, after dropping out of university. I started working in customer service-related roles. I had completed multiple online courses on data science and probability but never focused on Web development. I enrolled in a web development boot camp to have some additional certificates to "validate" my knowledge.

Today I work at Infosys Ltd. as a senior-level programmer, where I spend my days helping clients from all over the globe to design, develop, and deliver top-notch digital experiences.
